Description: We are going to learn the basics of laid fillings. This is a class for everyone. These are great stitching techniques that can be as simple or as complicated as you need. We will work up samples in class and even try developing your own stitching patterns. The finished sample can be usable if you wish.) These also can work up very quickly or be as complicated as you want. We will have a variety of threads in class, but feel free to bring a small bag of threads. It is great fun seeing how other stitchers' patterns look.

This French work meaning 'quirky or irregular' has a new meaning in the needlework world as an eight sided pincushion using two regular squares. This class will show you a joining technique for the linen with a Wool Applique design on the linen. Students should leave the class with the pincushion completed or near completion. Instructions will be provided so shop owners can teach this as a class in their shops.

Description: An advanced sock workshop for happy sock knitters who wish to refine or spice up their socks. Casting on and the essential properties of sock tops, including Channel Island cast on (a beautiful edge for a 1 x 1 rib). Heels; Garter Stitch Short Row and Turkish. Grafting assistance with the aid of a Toe Chimney (no loose stitches!). Use of markers, controlling the gathering effect of two-colour-per-rnd patterning and the incorporation of double-knit soles for added warmth. Description: Ready to add more color to your knitting? Homework: 1 - With worsted/aran weight yarn and appropriate sized double-pointed or short (12 or 16”) circular needles, cast on enough sts to go circs or minimal amount of sts on dpn’s (maybe 12). Join, being careful not to twist. Work in 1 x 1 rib circularly for about 1”, begin to bind off leaving last 2 or 3 sts unbound, leave on needles to be completed in class. 2 - With worsted/aran weight yarn and appropriate sized needles, cast on about 8 sts, work for about 1” in any st, leave on needles to be completed in class. 3 - With worsted weight yarn and appropriate sized needles, make a swatch of about 3” x 3” in stockinette, end ready to work a knit row, do not bind off, leave stitches on stitch holder.
